About Birdfeet
A small social network, built on purpose.
Birdfeet started with a simple frustration: most social apps are designed to keep you scrolling, not to keep you connected. So we built the opposite. A calm place to post a thought, find a group and follow people who make your day better.
Why it exists
The name comes from the feeling of a flock: nobody is in charge of the shape, but it holds together. Birdfeet is a place for small communities, slow conversations and the kind of posts you actually want to read twice.
Reading is always free, no account required. Posting, replying, liking and joining groups needs an account so there is a real person behind every voice.
How Birdfeet is put together
- 01
People first
Profiles are a handle, a short bio and your posts. No follower-count games, no engagement bait.
- 02
Groups with a purpose
Groups are small rooms for one specific thing. You join the ones you care about and post inside them.
- 03
Your words are yours
You can delete your own posts and your own account at any time. No dark patterns in the way.
- 04
Read before you join
The whole feed is open to guests. Join when you are ready to take part, not to see what is there.
Who builds it
Birdfeet is designed and built by Solly, with a bias toward small releases and honest copy. The team is remote-first and async by default, which is a fancy way of saying we write things down before we meet.
If you want to help shape it, we hire slowly and deliberately. There is a whole page about that.
What we will not do
- Sell your data or your posts to advertisers.
- Rank the feed by outrage, or hide posts to force a reaction.
- Fabricate members, posts or groups to make the place look busy.
- Add a feature that only works if you stay longer than you wanted to.
